Breaking News: Yidu Tech Helps Develop the First AI Doctor for Liver Cancer Specialization: Expert Wisdom + Large Language Models Reshape Inclusive Healthcare Ecosystem

2025-03-17

Recently, at the establishment ceremony of the Liver Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment Alliance and the multidisciplinary integration development seminar hosted by Zhongda Hospital affiliated with Southeast University, China's first liver cancer diagnosis and treatment intelligent agent, "Xiao Gan Ren" (Little Liver), made its official debut. This intelligent agent, led by Professor Teng Gaojun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Medical and Life Sciences Department at Southeast University, and Director of the Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Center at Zhongda Hospital, was jointly developed with Yidu Tech. Leveraging Yidu Tech's "AI Medical Brain" YiduCore and the DeepSeek large language model, it integrates authoritative clinical guidelines and expert consensus to provide patients with services such as disease consultation and report interpretation. The goal is to create an AI doctor specializing in liver cancer with expert-level diagnostic logic, making top-tier medical resources accessible to all.

The launch of "Xiao Gan Ren" was initiated by Academician Teng Gaojun, Executive President Huang Yingzi, and Vice President Ju Shenghong of Zhongda Hospital, along with Xu Jiming, CEO and Co-founder of Yidu Tech, Xue Chengjun, President of Jianhu County People's Hospital, and Chen Bin, President of Lai'an County People's Hospital. Over 200 hospital directors, experts, and representatives from more than 60 group hospitals, paired assistance hospitals, and key partner hospitals affiliated with Zhongda Hospital witnessed this significant moment.

Liver cancer is one of the most common high-incidence malignant tumors, and China bears the heaviest global burden of liver disease. Data shows that China accounts for nearly 50% of global new cases and deaths from liver cancer annually, with 367,700 new cases reported in 2022. For a long time, China's liver cancer prevention and treatment efforts have faced challenges such as low early diagnosis rates, insufficient standardization of treatment plans, low patient awareness, and uneven resource distribution. Traditional models have struggled to meet the demand for personalized and precise diagnosis and treatment.

"Xiao Gan Ren" directly addresses the pain points in liver cancer diagnosis and treatment. Powered by DeepSeek (excellent reasoning capabilities) and Yidu Tech's medical vertical large language model (deep understanding of medicine and diseases, offering greater precision and professionalism) as dual engines, it deeply integrates the latest authoritative guidelines and expert consensus in the field of liver cancer. Academician Teng Gaojun's team at Zhongda Hospital continuously provides feedback to optimize response logic, ensuring the professionalism and reliability of medical advice. This enables the standardized diagnostic and treatment capabilities of top-tier medical institutions and experts to be digitally preserved and widely disseminated.

The core advantages of "Xiao Gan Ren" are reflected in three aspects:

  1. Guideline Compliance: All decision-making recommendations are anchored to the latest clinical guidelines, with key nodes incorporating expert consensus validation mechanisms to ensure scientific and authoritative responses.
  2. Transparent Decision-Making: The complete diagnostic reasoning process and evidence-based foundations are presented, making every decision traceable and enhancing patient trust.
  3. Inclusive Services: Through functions such as disease consultation and report interpretation, standardized diagnostic and treatment capabilities are extended to patients, providing comprehensive and personalized disease management support.

"Xiao Gan Ren" serves as both a 24/7 expert consultant, offering rigorous personalized analysis, rehabilitation guidance, and lifestyle advice based on clinical guidelines and evidence, and a "translator" for report interpretation. It intelligently analyzes abnormal indicators in medical reports, converting professional medical information into understandable explanations and providing actionable recommendations based on the results.

At the event, Academician Teng Gaojun stated, "Our goal is not to create tools to replace doctors but to develop carriers that inherit the wisdom of medical professionals, allowing high-quality medical expertise to transcend individual limitations. As China's first AI doctor specializing in liver cancer, 'Xiao Gan Ren' will continuously integrate the latest multidisciplinary advancements in interventional medicine, oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, radiology, radiotherapy, and pathology. We hope it will evolve into the most professional AI doctor in the future."

Xu Jiming emphasized, "The launch of 'Xiao Gan Ren' is not only a breakthrough in the liver cancer diagnosis and treatment system but also a critical step in Yidu Tech's evolution from building single intelligent agents to creating a comprehensive ecosystem. Taking this opportunity, the company will focus on developing replicable paradigms for specialized intelligent agents, accelerating its platform-based development strategy, and ultimately forming a C-end ecosystem healthcare service platform integrating multiple disease-specific intelligent agents. This will reshape the value chain of 'doctor-patient interaction, knowledge evolution, and service extension.' It is a vivid practice of the concept of inclusive healthcare."

In the future, "Xiao Gan Ren" will expand to include services such as medication guidance, clinical trial recommendations, and disease course management. As more specialized fields replicate this intelligent agent development model of "dual-engine large language models + high-quality knowledge fuel + expert validation navigation," artificial intelligence will no longer be just a tool but a core hub for the equitable distribution of medical resources. This will enable top-tier medical care to truly "take root" in every corner where it is needed, serving as the best footnote for the "Healthy China" strategy in the era of artificial intelligence.
